Cheylah's Pig Wt. In

Cheylah and her pigs survivied our first pig wt in, it was funny, but that's because I got to watch and didn't have to carry the beasts around....they can really scream. Wilbur was 79#'s and Charlotte was 74#'s, max wt was 85 so we were close, now we have to get them to 230#+ by 8/3. Some of her fellow club members were there too, Tyler was a huge help with the pigs, Jordan is clipping a tag into his pigs ear, Wade, carrying his piggie back to the trailer and the goofball squad posing for a photo.

Ouch!

JJ & I were loading cows to take to the sale last Saturday, when one...soon to be hamburger cow...decided to go under a panel. The panel came down on my finger and the other panel I was holding onto, trying to keep him from going under...ouch, thankfully I had my gloves on, because all you would see would be a stub. Why my right hand tho?? It's broke and needed 5 stitches. My good buddy Steph got here in 8 minutes...she was still in bed when Cheylah called...I think it took her like 20 minutes, but I was in pain. She took me to the ER, Kevin came and helped JJ load the rest and we took the no good, filthy animals to the sale..good thing prices are good now, need it to pay the doctor bills. I don't need surgury tho..thankfully. That's why I raise pygmy goats, if they won't go where I want them too...I pick them up and carry them. JJ can just deal with his cows on his own. The life of a hobby farmer.

4-H in full Swing

Cheylah is a busy bee. She got her market pigs over spring break. Charlotte and Wilbur. They are hillarious. Her friend Jordan is doing pigs too, so his were with us for a week while he got his pen set up. Cheylah built a feeder from an old bed we had and is in the process of building them a shelter. On top of that she tries to ride her horse every Sunday and we've been having baby goats since the first of February, so It's a busy place. She started Softball in April, and Braden is playing T-ball so we never know which direction we are running.

Still Couponing

My latest and best purchase was Post Cocoa Pebbles and Fruity Pebbles, my kids love them, good thing.
I got coupons on e-bay for $2, then spent $6 for the Cereal! For $8 got 80 boxes of cereal! We eat 1 box a day around here, so in the real scheme of things....it might last till the end of summer.

Easter Egg Fun

We had a good time decorating Easter Eggs this year. Braden kept making blue and orange colored eggs, Carsten was happy to be one of the big kids and Cheylah helped the boys.
